About Me

You can now connect with me on Bluesky social https://bsky.app/profile/thehushedacre.bsky.social
Hi, My name is Ultan Cavanagh and I am the owner of Trinitygreen Farm and The Hushed Acre. I have grown up here on the farm and I continue to farm along with my partner and our daughter. I also hold both a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Master of Science in Applied Psychology. My specialised area within this field of study is Ecopsychology, but I also take a lot of interest in Psychoanalytic Psychology and Existential Psychology. I also have CPD training in Mindfulness Rooted Ecotherapy. My interests are mainly theoretical and research-oriented rather than clinical practice. My other interests include running and I have been road running for the past number of years. However, trail running is where I’m at now and this year I will hopefully take part in my first ultra trail run in Wicklow.
Full Disclosure: Although I have gained qualifications in psychology and have worked as a counsellor in crisis settings, I am not a chartered psychologist, therefore I cannot diagnose anyone with any kind of a disorder as I do not have the clinical training for such work. If you or someone in your care needs a diagnosis to access certain services, this can only be done by one of three different types of chartered psychologists that are registered with the Psychological Society of Ireland or eligible to do so and recognised by the HSE, a Clinical Psychologist, an Educational Psychologist or a Counselling Psychologist. Your GP is always a good starting point.
I have set up this website for a couple of reasons. Firstly, to give my farms website a home and secondly I want to grow The Hushed Acre. The Hushed Acre is an idea still in it’s infancy in which I really don’t know what the outcome is going to be. It’s foundation will be in ecopsychology and my aim is to grow the idea through creative expression in my blog. The blog is both for me to make sense of my own experience but also for you to encourage you to explore your own world through ecopsychology.
