Trinitygreen Farm
Trinitygreen Farm is located in the fertile lands of Mid-Louth in-between the towns of Ardee and Dunleer. The farm consists of 112 acres. Currently approx 5 acres is in forestry which was planted in 2012 and is mainly Oak. There is approx 50 acres surrounding the house and farm, and that land is currently in organic conversion. The remainder of the land is leased out to local dairy farms

Crop Production
The main organic enterprise on the farm is crop production. Cereal crops include Barley and Oats. Forage crops include Red Clover Silage and Traditional Hay and Silage, that are sold on to other livestock farmers.

Agro-Forestry Eggs
The farm also has a flock of laying hens which we started in 2022. Originally the hens were housed in a mobile coop where they got constantly moved onto fresh pasture. However, even though our hens were protected from predators with electric netting, predators would always eventually find a way into the hens, with devastating consequences. So last year I moved the mobile coops into a pasture next to a wooded area and permanently fenced the whole area. By doing this we raise our hens as close to their natural environment as possible and the hens are perfectly safe from predators such as a fox.

Our eggs are available to buy at our farm honesty box located at the farm gate Eircode A92 XNW1

Just to note – the eggs are NOT certified organic, but rather the hens are raised on an organically certified farm. The process for certifying eggs organically is not financially justifiable for my small flock. It is something I may work towards in the future though.
